Bethel might be a good entry point to reggae music for the younger fans out there. They play dozens of shows every year and recently released their debut LP "Muzyka Serc" ("Music of the Hearts"). On APSurdalia 2012 night, they opened the night before Maleo Reggae Rockers and Jamal.

Always a bit remote to the local reggae scene, Jamal has evolved into one of the most prominent Polish bands and surpassed the limitation of the genre. Their latest video "Defto" reached 2 million views in less than a month and is considered to be one of the best clips ever made in Poland. Thus, I had a really good time in Warsaw, enjoying the variety of musical arrangements for which the reggae music was just a starting point.

Even though Poland is blooming with live reggae gigs, the times are not so good for smaller, club shows of Jamaican artists. It was no different for the show of Perfect Giddimani who played in Urban Garden club, situated in the very center of Warsaw. If you stayed at home that very night, you’ve just missed a top-notch reggae concert.

Fantan Mojah was the last artist to enter the stage before Ijahman Levi on this very special evening in Warsaw’s Proxima club. I have already seen his performance on Summerjam Festival and expected a good, powerful show. And so it happened!

It is regrettable that I Wayne’s first show in Poland didn’t last longer than 40 minutes. However short, the set was a really memorable one and artist’s skills clearly shouted for more attention (summer festivals, perhaps?). Polish massive could hear a vast selection of I Wayne’s tunes and hear some spiritual advices from the “Life Teachings” author. I was really pleased to listen to artist’s greatest hits “Can’t Satisfy Her” and “Living in Love” and I definitely can recommend seeing I Wayne live.
