I can’t image any other band that recently stirred the ossified Polish rock scene as much as Lao Che did. Release of their concept album dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising of 1944 restarted a nation-wide discussion about the tragic insurrection; the LP was critically acclaimed by journalists, not to mention its cult status among the fans. The band evaded the temptation of touring anniversary events for a decade and pursued with a new, more electronic-inclined album “Prad Staly / Prad Zmienny”. Another experimental take and successful exploration of regions traditionally reserved for other genres resulted in an album that already became a classic one. At least for me!
