I have absolutely no clue how to summarize Pati Yang’s musical style. Gloomy yet subtle, she consistently eluded every single attempt to be classified or categorized. Her music is a cocktail of heavy pop, art-rock and trip-hop, unevenly balanced throughout albums. Personally, my favorite Pati Yang’s songs are the ambient, even tranquilizing pieces, being a little remote to the mainstream styles that everyone is raving about.
