Vavamuffin is no doubt the most popular reggae band in Poland. Usually bands like that are loved by the neophytes and at the same time hated by old-school veterans for often the popularity comes with a sacrifice of the music and lyrics quality. However, this is not the case Vavamuffin, fifth year on stage since their debut album "Vabang!".

Time is passing by, yet Vavamufin still remains a great concert band. With the release of their third original album their position as the leader of Polish reggae scene has been reinforced. (yeah, I know, “music is a mission, not a competition”). This year’s Ostróda saw a premiere of the “Mo’ Better Rootz” album: despite the non-obvious compositions that are not as catchy as group’s most popular hits, the crowd went wild. Just look at the capture of the audience!

Two thousand people. Sweat drops dripping from the ceiling. Vavamuffin brought down the house again, hands down. Band's popularity is flourishing, in spite of the wild experiments they're treating the audience with – enough to mention a seven minute long, improvised jazzy track from the last album “Mo' Better Rootz”.

The last show of the night at this year's One Love festival - Vavamuffin playing at insanely late hour. Had it been any other group, it certainly wouldn't have kept people from leaving. The venue was still crowded when the band shown up on the stage, which is a good measure of Vavamuffin's ongoing popularity.

I can’t shake off the impression that every year Vavamuffin’s fans are getting younger - or is it us who, all of a sudden, have turned old? Band picked Warsaw to be the first show in summer tour and it paid off well: Proxima club was crammed.

Another nice show by Vavamuffin in their home city of Warsaw. University campus was incredibly packed with people eager to hear band’s greatest hits. Vava performed a good hour and a half long piece significantly warming a chilly evening of yearly student carnival.
